Lovers & Madmen

Lovers and Madmen (2002) is a choral setting for treble voices of a text from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act. V, Scene I.

The piece was written for students in a music theater workshop for teens called Sky's the Limit that was founded by Anna Larson. The performance was titled "Lovers and Madmen: An Evening of Shakespeare and Song" and was directed by Becky Kemper with musical direction by the composer and Edith Di Bartolo as pianist and managing director.

The dedication reads: "This piece is affectionately dedicated to Courtney Claytor, Susannah Edwards, Mia Enns, Peter Enns, Dina Goldberg-Strassler, Emily Riehl-Bedford, and Stephanie Zimmermann-Schmitt.
